I have an MSW and lots of work experience in university settings (a field placement in an on-campus behavioral health (EAP) setting, and work-study jobs in admissions, residential life) . At present, I know that I would like to work in a college setting, in a counseling/advisory (or even some other) capacity.

After doing some research, I found out that many college-based positions require a M.Ed in counseling/ student affairs. However, most of the job postings do say "master's in counseling or related field and 2-3 years experience working in a college setting". With my MSW and work experience on college campuses, could I find work in a college/university? (it doesn't even have to be in counseling at this point!!!!). I am worried that I got the wrong master's degree :(
