...act 1990? I have been issued with a fine of £50 which if not paid in 10 days will increase to £75 for waste bags that were found dumped in a carpark which contained some letters with my home address on. (I live in the West Midlands, UK)
I have contacted the waste enforcement office who issued the letter to contest the fine as i absolutly did not dump the rubbish- I have been overseas for a few weeks and the last time I recollect seeing the rubbish, it was left outside my house the night before the weekly rubbish collection along with my neighbours rubbish as normal!
I have contacted citizens advice, but am yet to hear anything back from them. My question is, seen as though i did not personally dump the rubbish where it was said to be found (3 miles from my house!) how can they prove i personally dumped it just because the waste bags contained letters with my address on? I am no way willing to pay a fine for something I have not done.
Please can somebody advise me on the best way to argue my case as I want to contest the claim- i was not even in the country the date the waste was found.
Thanks in advance.
