I know this might seem a bit stupid, but I want to install Windows 7 on my macbook. But when I tried to boot camp, it said i didn't have enough space, which meant my files were heavily fragmented. I don't really want to spend any money on iDefrag (even if people say it is really good) so I saw in some forums another way to defrag your computer is to reformat it. Since macs have Time Machine, can i do the following and get the results i want?
.) Back-up my files using time machine to an external HD
.) Reformat
.) Since bootcamp is pre-installed in snow leopard (I assume a reformat does nothing to basic apps apple has like boot camp), I install my Windows 7 via boot camp on a freshly reformatted laptop
.) Put back all the back-ups Time Machine has saved
