Can I use the sim card from a tmobile prepaid phone?

I am buying a sidekick off of craigslist, and I want it to be prepaid.So...Im going to buy a REALLY cheap tmobile prepaid cell phone. If I take the prepaid sim card out of the cheap prepaid cell phone, and put it in the sidekick, would it work? would it make the sidekick prepaid??????????????
