out it tasting fishy? I got a new deepfryer and I only ever used it once to fry catfish. There is still a lot of oil left. I don't cook fish enough to use it all. And I would rather not buy any new oil right now.

no your chicken will smell like fish, but if you cook some french fries in the oil first that will take some of the fish smell out,but you may still have a little in it.

You can try - It wouldn't hurt but I would assume that you would have a light fish taste, but if you only used it once you might get lucky.

You can fry fish in chicken grease (but try to use fresh all the time) but the other way around is a no go. The chicken will taste of fish. Especially if someone eats the chicken that doesn't like fish....don't do it.

No , the chicken will taste like the fish
but if you fry the chicken first then the fish it will be ok

Use your nose to sniff the oil to see how strong the fishy smell is.
If you can't detect any or little, you'll be ok to use it again

Fish can certainly flavor fry oil but if you have a batch of oil and it's still clean and you don't want to toss it you don't necessarily haveto.

I've found that a batch or two of french fries can help remove some or nearly all of the fishy flavor from oil.

Of course then the french fies have a little, "Extra flavor" but that's never stopped me from eating them anyway.
