Can I use my financial Aid before I start college?

So I start college in September, and I need a laptop for my classes before then. It's obviously a educational expense, but I am not sure if I have to wait till the second term to get the Financial Aid return, or if I can use it before hand. If I can use it before hand, how do I go about this? I dont have any type of credit card, or a check from financial aid.. so how does it work? Thanks for the help!
