Can i use latex white paint as prime?

Can i use latex white paint as prime?
my room is hot pink and i want to paint it light purple so can i use latex paint that is white as a prime?
 
No. Primer and finish paint serve 2 completely different functions, and are manufactured to perform those functions. Get a gallon of primer (good primer like Zinsser 1-2-3 will cost you less than $20), and your room will look a lot better. Hope this helps.
