Can I use jackboots/Knobelbecher boots for hiking?

Hello. I'm interested in getting a pair of jackboots/Knobelbecher boots. From what I hear, they are a favorite in Russia and other European countries because of their comfort and durability.

Could I use them for hiking? I think they look really cool and they look better than average hiking boots.
