Alright I know there have been different questions about this topic before, but mine is different. I am looking at purchasing 2 good 12" subwoofers for my truck, but I also want to be able to use them in my home (mostly for to get more bass with my music setup) since I know they won't be in my car all the time. I am a DJ and have a QSC RMX-2450 professional rack-mount amplifier that produces 500x2 in 8 ohms stereo, 750x2 in 4 ohms stereo, and 1200x2 in 2 ohms stereo. Can I use this amp in both my car and home to power these subwoofers? My plan is to buy another power cable (they are about 3ft and 10awg) for the amp since it can be disconnected from the amp and cut off the "plug" end and wire that straight into my car for use there and just leave that cable always connected (since it can be disconnected from the amp). Then I would leave the other power cable in my home where I plan to use these subs. I then plan to outfit my sub cabinet when I get it with "speakon" jacks so I can use my current cables to power the cabinet (the cables are 10' 12awg). Then when I don't feel like using this sub in my car I could move the subs and amp into my house and just plug them in, right? Please let me know if you guys think this would work...
