I have ordered 2 tweeters and 1 subwoofer with intention to use them on my home stereo, but I have read conflicting information on the web. My OHM is not a problem, the speakers are 8 OHM. Do the speakers need power? I am not using a radio that is meant to be used in a car, I am using a phillips system. My question is is if they will work. Will they sound fine, or sound all staticy? I am going to build the speaker box out of strong cardboard with a weight in the back. Is there anything that I can do to help make the speaker box sound better? Is there anything that I should be aware of when doing this besides the OHM? The speakers are the same OHM that the stereo system uses.
