Can I use anyone's car for the driving test.?

I want to use my friends car to take to the dmv for the test. Can I use her car? And also my permit is expired but I already am ready for the test so do I need a permit at all to take the driving test. Can anyone find me sources to these questions for Chicago. I've searched and went to the dmv website but can't find answers to these questions. Thanks.

Your permit should be current, & yes you can use friends car if insurance is current.

As long as the car is valid and capable of passing the inspection, you should be fine.
