Can I use a system image created on another computer to fix my one?

My wifes computer seems to be having some issues and I'm trying to fix it up. We both run identical systems with Windows 7 on them.

Can I create a System Image on my computer and then use it in the System Recovery tool to try and get her computer up and going again. Or will there be issues because it was created using Win7 with my CD key rather than hers?
