Can I use a 2009 business purchase for 2010 Canadian tax year filing?

I am going to purchase a new laptop. I hope to use it for some business over the course of 2010. It's my hope that I can get a few small contracts that I can generate income with.

I'm wondering if I can actually buy it this month, prior to 2010, and use it/report it for the 2010 tax year (Winter 2011), I'm just wondering, if i buy it in 2009, is it only eligible to use for the 2009 tax year.
