im filling Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and owe over 550 dollars on my verizon bill i have 2 htc droid eris phones and want to either use them with another carrier for a pay as you go plan or sell them on ebay. i heard that verizon wont release the esn if you owe them $ as i will place the verizon bill in bankruptcy. can i unlock my phones and then sell them or move them to say pages plus.com phone service? how does unlocking work and how does it affect the esn #? i live in illinois and believe the phone is a cdma phone, ive seen ads online to pay $20 to unlock them will it work?
