Can I trust Apple with giving my credit card number to Itunes?

well i wanna access the app store but the only way i can get apps is if i give my parents credit card number and all that info. and my parents really don't want to give it to me cause they don't trust that they might mess around with it or something. can i trust them?
is it dangerous?
