Just that is what happen to me. I was lifting something heavy on my shoulder and walking with it and then I heard a pop and my knee gave out. I had surgery to reconstruct it.
Most of the literature I read on this is that the ACL can only tear by pivoting, cutting, or someone hitting you in the knee. None of that happened.
When It happened, I only remember feeling fatigue and tired, and was turning a corner while lifting the heavy thing. Prior to this, my knee felt slightly loose, so I may have had a undiagnosed partial tear that happened when I was kid.
