can I talk to my coach about this?

So my xc/track coach is probably one of the most influential people in my life. He has coached both our girls and guys team to state championships in xc and has helped me and the rest of my team improve SOOO much. I honestly can't even put into words how much he has done for us and everything he has helped me get through these past 4 years. Well, he keeps his personal life very private but there has been LOTS of talk that he will not be able to coach us next year because he graduated from grad school and can't find a job at our school. However, he has not said anything about this to anyonee and people are coming up to me asking me all these questions about what is going on since I'm captain. Would it be bad for me to go up and ask him what will happen next year or what is going on? Or should I wait for him to say something to us about it, I just feel like he doesn't want anyone to know...I really don't know what to do!
 
yeah, definitely ask him. just say something like you want to know whats going on since your captain, and you've been hearing rumours and just wanted to know. just expect the worst and you'll get through it
