Can i take this car back ?

I purchased, what i thought was a good car at a used car dealership on friday. Upon getting home, the service engine light came on, and then having my brother look at it..we notice that there is a whole host of small problems, that the dealership did not disclose to me. Im 19 yrs old and i do not have any experience purchasing cars, but i do admit i made a mistake with this one. So now i want to return the vehicle, but i declined to cancel the contract upon purchasing the vehicle. Does this dealership have to allow me to bring this car back and get another one ? according to california state laws ? Also, when i got some opinions, this dealership did alot of other things wrong, like allowing me to leave the dealership without insurance. Anyways, i appreciate your responding to these questions. thanks
