Can I take these courses without going through American School of Correspondence?

I've been homeschooled since Kindergarten. I get text books from Abeka and Apologia and just work from there, so If I did "Psychology for Life Today" which is offered at ASC would I need to take it through them? Like, can I just buy the book on amazon and it has all the tests and stuff in it?
Same with the Sociology course :)
and are they good courses? Im going in to grade 11 and I want them to be challenging.
