I live in north carolina and i have a 1990 Honda CRX I already have a Racing Muffler but a Stock Catalytic Converter im not sure if i can take off the Catalytic Converter on my car cause of the year but also i want to know if it will damage the engine im also planning to get new racing headers, but the straight pipe i plan to put on is going to be bigger than stock size. will the lack of back pressure damage my engine.
~Thank You for Any Help You Give Me~

it won't damage anything at all. you will indeed have less backpressure and your car will be even slower, but that's your choice. i assume that's what you want being that you're enlarging the exhaust so much on such a small engine.

good luck. that's definitely an interesting path to take.

For off-road/competition use, removing a cat your engine will run fine.

If you have any smog inspection and expect to keep driving on the street, you could get into trouble removing it.

Cat designs are good enough nowadays that you don't get that much power from removing the cat, I'd recommend leave it on for street use.
