Can i take clomid on CD 5-9 this month if i have to get an HSG test done on CD

10-pls help me? Hi..
My periods started on 07/07/09 I am going to have an HSG on 07/16/09 that is 10 days after periods.Today i am on CD 4 . On CD 5 i was supposed to start clomid.I am wondering if i can still take clomid if i have to go for an HSG this month.
Can i still take Clomid on CD 5-9 if i have an appointement for HSG on CD 10?
Also do you have to abstain or stay avoid sex for few days after HSG has been done?
I just called my nurse and she said my Gyno is not in office today so i would appreciate if you can help.
 
Hi! When you take Clomid on days 5-9, sometimes it pushes your ovulation back a bit, so don't be surprised if you ovulate later. Subsequent Clomid cycles will go faster. If you have normal cycles, you would be set to ovulate around July 21st which would be quite a few days after your HSG. I would say it is a great cycle to take Clomid. HSGs tend to clean gunk out of your tubes and makes your uterus very accepting of an embryo. I had 2 HSGs and I am not sure about abstaining from sex afterward but they always say the first 3 cycles after an HSG are your most fertile so I think you will be good to go!
