So I am about to sign up for a new Verizon plan. 2 years is an extremely long time for me to keep a phone so i used to go to walmart/target/ect. to get a $30 prepaid phone and just add it to my Alltel account if i lost/broke/had any issues with my phone. This was much cheaper than paying full retail for a new phone. Now with the merger the sales rep at Verizon says that wont work unless the prepaid phone has been on for six months. Is this true or is the store just trying to make me buy more?
Also, if i sign up one of my family plan phones as a smart-phone, can a change it to a regular plan without a termination fee? Like if i had a Droid, had it break, then went to walmart and bought a prepaid phone to go back on the plan.
