Can I sync my ipod to windows media palyer on a new computer?

I just got a new laptop and my ipod is set up and everything on my old desktop. it has a virus that's kinda why i got a laptop. im 13. my ipod has about 120 purchased songs on there and i wanna sync to my new pc, but im scared i'll lose my music. thru windows media player or sonin can i save my songs to my computer thru ipod or what am i suppose to do???

This is the safest fastest and easiest way!!!:)
only way to sync your ipod is through itunes.. so here is what you do

1.sync your ipod right now on your computer with the virus and songs... you are safe at this point.
2.download itunes on your new computer then login on the itunes with your account.
3. plug in the synced ipod and a question will pop up asking if you would like to transfer purchases.. say yes.
4. your bought music will then be transfered off your ipod and onto your new computer

@NONE: that will not work.. iTunes puts a lock on their music... this method above is the only way it will work
