I just bought a '99 Focus yesterday, it has the standard Ford cassette player but I'm thinking of buying the Ford CD player for it. It's the same shape, just wondering if the wiring would match.

Most of the connectors would be standard for the speakers and antenna.
If you intend installing an additional device like CD changer, you may need to add additional wiring.
It would be better to ask the Ford Dealership.

It'll b fine, the connectors at the back should be the same, i changed a standard tape player in a corsa to a different make cd player and it was pretty easy to do. If you dont think you can do it yourself pop to your nearest ford dealer and they should swap it around for you and it shouldnt cost too much.

Wiring isn't the problem the majority of the time. it's getting the extra piece that will make the stereo fit into the space properly. Just take it into a car stereo place they'll tell you exactly what you need and it might be worth it to just pay them to install it for you.

You will have no problems upgrading the cassette for a CD, both have standard ISO connectors.
If you are buying the CD second hand make sure you have the security code for the CD before you try to install it.
Ja.
