can i swap a tranny from a grand prix into a Buick lesabre t-type?

i have a 1989 Lesabre T-Type 107,XXX miles the car wont move forward unless i bounce it off the rev limiter for about 30 seconds(it does go into reverse btw) but where can i find a tranny for my car. do i need a certain code transmission? or could i get a tranny from a Buick regal and put it into my car? i really need help fast i start a new job in about two weeks. thx alot
