Can I sue Sprint for not giving me info regarding social security?

I walked into Sprint yesterday to buy a HTC Evo. Then they ran a credit check and told me that I was approved for three lines. The account was then closed because someone with a Sprint account is using my SSN. I called Sprint and they told me to fill out a fraud packet and send it them. On the packet it says to obtain three things; police report, ID, and proof of residency at the time of the theft of my SSN. I can't get a police report because I don't have sufficient proof to bring my case into an investigation. I called Sprint and they told me they cant give me any information on the account because of privacy reasons. I sent the fraud department a fax of my DL and my Social Security card. They still were unable to release any information to me. Is it possible to sue for withholding information that regards my social security?
