Can I sue a home owner if I was nearly murdered in the house?

I was wondering if i had a case to sue the home owner, i was stabbed & slashed over 20 times, in the head & left & right side of my shoulders & in the back. I am wondering if i can sue the home owner, the incendent happened over 6 days ago in the kitchen, i have yet to sleep since then, I cant close close my eyes at night & sleep without seeing my blood dripping off my hands & the 2 people involved laughing,
 
I can't imagine how the home owner could be responsible for a random attack. If the home owner was one of the parties to the crime, then sure.
