I have noticed that the market for used PS3 sports games has fallen quite considerably -- I can get the 2008 versions of many titles (Madden, MLB, NBA, NHL, FIFA, etc) usually for $10 or less.
If I buy two copies of these older games and give one to my friend, can we still play each other online? Or do they purposely disable older versions so you have to buy the new season's game? I'm not really concerned with roster updates, I just want to play online with my buddies.
