I see the concern. Yes, film does have an expiry date!
Film has chemicals that will change/breakdown/etc over time. If you want good pictures, you will want to develop them before the expiry date for sure!
However, it's kinda like milk expiry dates. Depending on the environment of storage, and the quality of the content, an expiry date can be just a general "best by" date.
Really, you should be fine. Develop the film as soon as possible. It sounds to me like you have some wonderful memories on that film!
