I don't want to drill holes and run wire. I've seen phone over power line adapters that are affordable. Can I plug my dsl modem directly into such a device just like its a normal phone jack? Would performance suffer? I'm not talking fios here. Just to clarify I don't mean Ethernet over power line, but only to tap the dsl signal through a phone over power jack. Is it possible, or would the devices just act like line-filters? Any hardware recommendations? Thanks.
