I know this is a dumb question but I am not looking for mean or rude responses I just am looking for some advice. I am gay, well actually i wasn't before I joined but I met someone of the same sex and have been happily together for quite some time. Now I know the army's policy on don't ask don't tell. I am probably going to be deployed, which is not a problem for me, but my partner wants to actually feel like a part of my family and is pushing for us to get married. Is there a way the army can find that out? I am obv not going to get any benefits so I wouldn't bother telling them, I am not that stupid. I just want to know that if you don't inform them of your situation, is there any way that they could find out? and if so, what would be the consequences?
