Can I save left over hair dye until I am sure I didn't miss anything?

I JUST dyed my hair, I just got out of the shower and it is still wet. I have a little bit of the dye left over and was wondering if I can save it until I get a chance to see my hair dry to make sure I don't miss any spots. By the way I dyed all of my hair basically the same color as my roots, a medium brown. My highlights were REALLY grown out and I don't have the cash to get them touched up so I figured I'd go all one color for awhile.
