Ok so I just upgraded my router like a few months ago and i was looking through my old crap filled closet earlier and found my old router (Motorola wr850g w/ custom dd-wrt firmware). I have no real use for this thing that i know of and I was wondering if there was anything i could use this for or salvage from it. I have an xbox 360 and a ps3 in my basement and my router is is on the middle floor on the opposite side of the house and it has an average of 1-2 bar signal in the cod4 score listings in game and when i set up my conection and test it it says i have 1 bar. I have the white one prong aka not the new wireless N 2 prong device (though i should get that because my new router supports n and i hear that that is better signal strength). So i was thinking if i could put this downstairs via wiring an Ethernet cord through the back of my new router through my office window upstairs to the downstairs window and extend the signal off my normal network. i have currently a Belkin_n+_608FAO (the default name of the wifi when i set up assuming that's the product code) router. any other uses that seem cool i may look at doing also. It's just sitting in the dust right now. it does have dd-wrt custom firmware installed as i mentioned earlier.
