Can I run my T-Mobile iPhone with no data plan?

I currently run my iPhone on T-Mobile. It's been working fine for months with no issue. Problem is, I can no longer afford the data plan.

Can I still run my phone and text messages if I pay for a texting bundle? I understand that I cannot use any internet or email without the data plan, but will my texting work once the data plan is off?
 
Yes it will work though getting t-mobile to drop the data plan may be a problem....your texting will work ,I use an iphone on t-mobile with no data plan. For surfing and checking e-mail I use the wifi (though you can only use it if there is an open wifi near you) I have wifi at home and work for free so I really have no need of a data plan. You can try telling them you broke you iphone then maybe they will drop the data package. Also if you didn't know you can text for free, on the iphone if you have a wifi source. I use the app called sms free. This even works with mass texting so you can send 1 message to up to 20 people. It was free in the app store.
