can i run civilization IV?

On the system requirements website it says that my computer would fail to run civilization IV because of my vertex shader and my Video HW Transform & Lighting, which i havent got because of my rubbish graphics card.
I have a Intel GMA X3100 graphics card, and everything else like my memory and my hard drive etc reaches the minimum requirements.

do you think my pc can still run the game on low settings despite what the website has said?
 
If it doesn't have the transform and lighting, it can't really show the game up. And if your talking about shaders, I don't think the game will even show, maybe in some games start up
 
You'll need T&L at a bare minimum, but apparently the X3100 does support T&L.
You can download the demo (link below) and find out for sure before buying. Make sure you have the latest graphics card drivers + and directX as well.
