Is it practical to ride a bike in a 300,000 size town?
There's no bus system. (Well it's not extensive.)
I don't want to buy a car. (Environment- and I can't afford a 'green' car.)
Walking and biking are good ways to keep fit.
I kind of want to spite people who are so concerned about having a car. I want to say ''See? You don't have to a car.''

But, people think you're really low on the chain if you don't have a car.
=(

That's why I like Europe.
But, America is not Europe.

cycleing is much more fun than being in a tin box no traffic jams no fuel costs and keeps you fit cycle on my friend.

I own a $32,000 car and commute 3 or 4 days a week with my $2,300 Schwinn Continental Electric assist bicycle. My ride is 10 miles to work and 12 miles home. I am loosing my beer belly lost 26 pounds from April15 2008 to now. I am felling much better. So now the bicycle bill has passed and we can get a TAX break too. If you have shower facilitys at work even better. Riding will save thousands of dollars each year. But be very careful I ride where the car traffic isn't.

I don't see why not, everyone in Amsterdam rides bikes. I live in England and my fiance rides his bike to work and back every day - not because he can't drive or doesn't have a car because he can and does, just that a) it saves money on petrol or bus fares, b) the rush hour traffic is awful and he misses most of it out on a bike and c) it's a good way to stay fit.
