I bought a replacement fork for my MTB that is about 3cm (1+inch) longer then the original. I'm measuring the actual fork from the centre of the axel to where the fork meets the frame. The steering tube is the same size, and i don't mind having the handle bars up higher. Is this going to be OK? Will it cause any problems? The suspension on the new fork is also heavier, and can be locked off.
BTW, This bike is being used as a touring bike, and has 26 x 1.50 semi-slick tires. It also has a front rack to attach panniers.
