Can I replace my 1988 Dodge Ram D50 2.6 liter engine with a 2.2 20r 77 toyota engine ?

Can I replace my 1988 Dodge Ram D50 2.6 liter engine with a 2.2 20r 77 toyota engine without having to replace my transmission. Or where i can find out if my transmission will be compatible with the toyota engine
