Can I put hair mousse in my hair and then curl it?

I got herbal essences totally twisted curl boosting mousse, and on the back it says to use with wet hair and with a diffuser and low level dryer heat. II don't know what this means! I expected to just put it in, dry it a little bit, then curl it. Will it keep my hair curled, or just enhance my waves? How do I use it properly? What's a diffuser?!
 
you put the mousse in your hair, then crunch your hair up (it's hard to describe) but you grab your hair from the bottom and lift your hand up, and a diffuser is just for cury hair, its an attachment for some blow dryers.
 
a diffuser is an attachment for your hair dryer that enhances your curls. you can buy one any where. if you don't have one you can still use the mousse and it will probably make your hair curlier but the diffuser will help alot!

but idk if it would work the same way if you curled it.
but if you have a diffuser you put it in damp hair and then kinda scrunch it.
