Can I put a RX-8 motor in my 96 mazda 626?

If not, what other kind of motor could i put in it thats better than the one thats already in it being that its a stick shift?
 
Sure but it would cost a ton of money and be a poor choice.

The RX8 is RWD and the 626 is FWD. You would need to convert your car to RWD which basically involves building a RWD tube frame car that fits under the 626 body. The rotary engine doesn't make much torque so putting it into a heavier car like a 626 would make a car thats very slow off the line. Your mileage would also be horrible which is another side effect of the rotary engine.
 
It would be a huge job to put a rotary in an 626. Anything is possible but it would be expensive and an RX7 would be better for the money.

2.5L V6 from a 626 or MX6 would go in easily, it's a decent motor too.
