its a 1997 pontiac grand am se. has a 3.1 v6 in it can i put like a v8 or a 3,4l or 3,8. i want more power i hvae done work to the body, and the body is in good shape.
and where would i go on the internet to order an engine for my car

The 3.4 goes in relatively easy. But don't expect it to simply bolt right in. The engine will mate to the transmission and the engine mounts will match up. But you will need to make come modifications.

The 3.8 may be a problem because it is quite a bit different than the 3.1.

The 60 Degree V6 forum is a great source of information on these engines. You will find some engine swap information. But you will also find many performace mods.

The second link has some very useful information on 60 degree V6 engine swaps. Look in the downloads section. Here you will find a detailed article on what it takes to make this swap.

Yes, you can put up to a 3.3l v6 in the 96-98 models. Not much of an upgrade but could give you a little more power.

An engine swap is a major undertaking. Do you plan to do the work yourself? If so, you will need tools and alot of time and money. If you want a mechanic to do it for you, it will require even more money. Consider saving up your money for a faster newer car while you drive your current car without modifications.
