Can I pledge and how do I go about pledging Alpha Kappa Alpha at a different University?

I am a student at LIU in New York but I am transferring to the Art Institute in Los Angeles but I have been and I am extremely interested in the Membership Intake Process. I am aware that the Art Institute does not have an sororities. My question is can I pledge at a University in LA where there is an active chapter and if so how do I go about getting information of events to attend and when rush week will be held?
