Can i play sports if i failed 1 class?

My parents are saying i cant but i think im allowed. I failed german class so its not even like its an acidemic. I got C+s or higher in every other class to the gpa isnt that bad either. I dont if this varries by state or not but i live in NJ if it dose.
 
It does depend on what school you are going to and the county.Some schools don't allow you to play if you have 2 failing grade or more.
