I just ordered a PS3 for my brother for Christmas. The problem is we have an Akai (Viore) PT46DL30 TV which is HDTV compliant but not HDCP and there is no HDMI input. I can use a DVI-HDMI converter since I do have DVI support.
However I have been reading a lot about HDCP compliance and people having trouble using their consoles.
Am I going to have to buy another TV just to run this $400 console I just bought!??
I've heard of the HDCP stripper from HDFury, but its another $300. Is there a cheaper alternative or am I going to have to sacrifice Blu-Ray and HD gaming?
