Can I paint a pattern on isis wings?

I want to paint designs on my Isis wings with fabric paint, but I'm worried that two things might happen... The paint will wreck the pleats, flattening them out, or that the weight of the paint might interfere with them flowing gracefully while dancing.
 
I'd leave them the way they are and not risk it.
If you wear the right clothes you might not need to colour them to make them look good!
