I bought my Civic Hybrid (2004) to be economical on fuel. I got a really good deal with it and am absolutely stoked since it's replacing my fuel hungry Grand Am. I'm a little new to cars, especially the mechanical side of things. I can change my oil and understand the essential concept of an internal combustion engine, but I was curious to know how an exhaust mod will affect the performance of my car? I intend to get a car to work on to teach myself about mechanics in the future, but for now I just hate not being able to accelerate as fast as other cars on the highway. I know it's a trade-off when you buy a hybrid, but I thought an exhaust swap might help a bit. Also if this is a tried and true method, does anyone know any companies with affordable performance exhaust setups for sale?
