...husband? Me and My (now ex) boyfriend had been living together for a little over 7 years and filed our taxes as married for 5 years in Oklahoma. I never used his last name, and we have zero joint accounts. We broke up in August of 2008, and I legally married another man. My ex went to file his taxes and they said that we had to get a common law divorce before we could file separately again? if this is the case am i still Common law married to my ex and not legally married to my actually husband. Im really confused, any help we be greatly appreciated. PS i read the oklahoma common law marriage laws and it states that if it was after 11/1/98 then it is not recognize but the lady that does the taxes seems to think otherwise.
