Can i lose fat from lifting weights (anaerobic exercise alone)?

I am 6 foot 1 inch and weigh 230 pounds. I'm a freshman in college and have been lifting weights since about freshman year of highschool. I was an active athlete in Highschool. When college hit, i whent from 200 to 230 pounds and didnt do much physical activity until the spring semester. (so much for freshman fifteen haha) I lift weights four days a week, i work out both upper and lower body. and i do about 100 situps each time. I rarely run or bike. Is it possible for me to lose body FAT this way. I realize i may gain weight but as long as its muscle and not fat i'm very happy
