Can I leave the Metzeler Rennsport on the back of my bike and replace the front

with a Metzeler M3? I have tread left on the back tyre but the front is finished. Rennsports aren't made any more but if I can leave the back tyre on for another 1500 miles to finish it off it'll save me a few £££. I wouldn't mix makes, but can I mix old Metzeler with newer Metzeler?
 
You aren't going to hurt anything and you will know within the first 10 miles whether you are having handling issues. Despite all the people who talk doom and gloom about mixing brands and models of tires, I have never known anyone in my 24 years of riding, to have had an issue with doing it.

If it were me, I would do it without worrying about it.
