Hello-I am a freelance tattoo/makeup artist. I go to a local area/shopping hotspot all the time I was given a chance to rent a small store space to perform tattoos in the back of a store that sells body jewelry, not to mention insurance and other nick knacks. The space is very small and shares a restroom with the whole store.
I am having issues with rent and size. I painted the walls already-I got an offer to do something better for my business. How do I tell the owner of the store I will not be renting after there after all? I haven't signed a lease or any agreements. HELP! I don't want the owner to think badly of me!
The owners are a couple in their late 40s unfimilar with the tattoo business and want to charge me either a higher rent up and not limited to over $1000 or take 50% of everything earned. I really appreciated the offer-but after thinking about it, an old buddy who was helping with the shop in question found a bigger place for the same amount, that will fit more stations and pass all health codes.
